What I’m blogging about

London, and the English countryside. Beautiful and unusual places, interesting exhibitions and performances. Books I read that won’t leave my head, restaurants, hotels and shops that I love.

About Me

I am in my late-twenties, run a business (dull) with my husband Tom (wonderful), and teach story-writing to small people (children). This takes up an awful lot of time but does give me the freedom to engineer my own schedule, as I work for myself. I live in London and have done since I was 18, but spend half my time in the countryside.

I grew up combing the beaches and diving in the rockpools of a lonely Pacific island. As a result I’m always on the look out for the beautiful, the wonderful and the downright strange; the flotsam and jetsam of everyday London life. I hope to share my findings with you, lucky readers.

The only other vital piece of information to convey, is that I do tend to ramble in my storytelling. I can only apologise for this, and hope that you find my meandering stream-of-consciousness amusing, rather than it inciting you to hunt me down with a 20 bore.

  1. First, thanks ever so much for liking my post today. I do appreciate it. And yes, I have raised tadpoles! I live in New Jersey, and purchased them from a garden center to place in a large container pond in our garden. Unfortunately, they turned out to be bull frog tadpoles, which grew to be ginormous! They either hopped out as soon as they could, or were a tasty snack for one of our roaming raccoons. I suspect the latter, because the goldfish also soon disappeared. I have since decided to stick to flowering plants and visit our swimming friends when I go diving. Enjoy the start to your week!

  2. Haha the picture with the rifle is great! 🙂 And you’re beautiful! I have been to London (not the country side though.. does watford count?) I’ll def be back some day.

  3. Hi, thanks for liking my post ‘Teriyaki Summer’. Sounds like you got to see some beautiful attractions on your visit to Ireland. When the weather is good here, many of the views are spectacular. Next time you are over maybe take a trip to the south of Ireland, particularly Co Kerry – it is breathtaking! They call it ‘Gods Country’ – nothing to do with religion, it’s because of it’s beauty.

  4. Hi Jade,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking the ‘owl shit’ post 😉 I know I have a strange sense of humor but what the hell??! I liked your post about teaching the kids on the private plane and yacht. How did you ever luck into that gig? It sounds like a great way to see the world.

  5. Hi Jade,

Check out my blog if you’re ever in need of a little inspiration on where to wine and/or dine in London 🙂
Also, do you have an email I can reach you on?

  8. Many thanks for liking and following my blog. I really enjoyed looking at yours and am very envious of your riding in the water meadows. I very very much miss my horse but she would undoubtedly of thrown me off in the water!! I also love your eye make-up and am going to copy it this instant, if only I could get the flick right. Have a happy day x

  9. Fabulous blog … I don’t tend to read them, but spent a while delving in yours ; lovely stuff ! I was trying to see if my new cocktail ‘The English Hedgerow’ was unique, and while goggling ended up in your page – love some of your drinks!
